ABOUT

Mia has turned to dance throughout her life in different ways. As a child dance was her counselor, helping her to navigate growth of emotion and body awareness. She felt solace in dancing, closing her eyes, feeling freedom. In maidenhood dance was her passionate guide; taking her beyond walls of "knowing", following passions, experiencing healing. Dance and Mia were beacons of light or tapestries of deep emotion and adventure. After Mia's surrender to motherhood, her body serving new life, vital energies growing and sustaining children, mind and heart always occupied with the complexities of family; dance was a way to carve out some time for herself, smile uncontrollably, feel enlivened by music and choreography, get out of the head and into the moving body. Now, Mia has returned to herself through Qoya. The SELF that we all return too in pure spirit. She has found herself a pure vehicle of movement that integrates all of her stages in life. Contemplation, Healing, Joy, Playfulness, Sensuality, Sacredness....Qoya. She is excited for her continued journey through Qoya and looks forward to sharing it with you!

GETTING TO KNOW

Mia E. Pem

WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOU TO TEACH QOYA?

Teaching Qoya is a delightful way for me to return to the sacred through movement and to offer a place where women can come home to themselves, their own wisdom, sensuality and ecstatic nature.

WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE WHO IS FEELING INSPIRED TO TRY QOYA FOR THE FIRST TIME?

If I just found out someone was thinking about taking their first Qoya class I would tell them... "Yes, what a gift to yourself!"
