We will look at Polyvagal theory through the lens of seeing the Dorsal Vagal, as the system of shut down, Sympathetic, as a system of action and Ventral Vagal, as a system of connection and explore how they are in an autonomic hierarchy, often referred to as the Polyvagal Ladder.

In the introduction of the book Deb Dana writes, "Polyvagal Theory is the science of feeling safe enough to fall in love with life and take the risks of living." In the forward Stephen W.
