Initiation & Intensive Teacher training
from a Compassionate Decolonization Lens

with Samar Ocean Wolf Ciprian

Coromandel Coast of Aotearoa, New Zealand

February 17th to February 24th, 2026

Join Samar Ocean Wolf Ciprian for a Compassionately Decolonized journey through Qoya Initiation & Intensive Teacher Training at the beautiful and wild Sky River Sanctuary on the Coromandel Coast of Aotearoa, New Zealand in February 2026.

At this time of global polycrisis, the need to inhabit our bodies with fullness, be in service to the Body of the Earth with reverence, and be in communion with community with honesty is not only necessary for a cohesive civilization, but for the continuity of human life on this blessed Earth.

Compassionate Decolonization is a framework that presumes an equal seat at the collective table for everyone, including the living world, while individual wounds are tended according to need.  Equality is about everyone being allowed to experience wholeness.

Qoya provides us with a map of how to return to that wholeness.  The path includes dance, movement as prayer, breath, ritual, pilgrimage, the magic of the Directions, and the inspired medicine shared by the Q’ero lineage that lives in the bones of this work.

Teacher Training is at once an exploration of your own heart and a devotion to the collective soul of every community in which you move.  These trainings stay true to the structure and Spirit of Qoya, while illuminating opportunities to know each other more deeply as tribes, storytellers, wounded healers and the children and grandchildren of peoples who lived through Fire.

At the end of this week, expect not only to be inspired to share space, but to start building a world where we can stand in our unity as a species, belonging to the Earth.

Location

Sky River Sanctuary is a wild place and unlike anywhere else on Earth.   Right off of  Opoutere beach on the Coromandel Coast of Aotearoa New Zealand, it is a portal out of collective chaos, closer to our Shared Dreaming.

The Ocean, Night Sky, Forests and Mountains will welcome you, along with a million tiny corners of magic and beauty.  It is one of the most poignant places I have danced and danced with others and I love it with my whole heart.

Our intimate space is a home, supporting small groups to make myriad heartfelt journeys into the depths and out to the stars and back.   Home-cooked meals, cosy rooms, fires, outdoor baths, ocean swims, and cups of cacao as the hawks swoop and the owls call make up the fabric of this place.  To feel it, visit IG @skyriversanctuary

Address provided upon registration.  Driveable easily from the North Island.  If you are flying into Auckland, we will support with arranging carpooling.

PLEASE NOTE: Spaces for both trainings are limited to ten participants

Itinerary

Use this itinerary to get a sense of what our time together will look like, but know that we will flow with the energy of the group, the weather, and our needs as they arise.
