GETTING TO KNOW
Adrienne Wood
WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOU TO TEACH QOYA?
I love the holding the space for feminine movement, for women exploring how their bodies want to move. Teaching Qoya lets me offer a vehicle for women to really engage with themselves, body and spirit.
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE WHO IS FEELING INSPIRED TO TRY QOYA FOR THE FIRST TIME?
No matter how many times I dance Qoya, it's always different. When I started, I felt awkward and shy, and worried that i was doing it wrong, or would be judged. But the women of Qoya, teachers and dancers, have all been universally welcoming and accepting. All those fears were just my own issues getting in my way, and dancing Qoya was exactly what I needed to feel more confident and free.
