ABOUT

My name is Amaia Ariztegi Fernández. I was born in the Basque Country in 1975. I consider myself an eternal learner. With a degree in Sociology, I have specialized in research and training on the power of the “feminine.” Thus, in italics, since it is much broader than femininity or feminism and at the same time encompasses both.

I began by seeking a contemporary and positive vision of menstruation, childbirth, menopause and female sexuality. Through the sacred, safe, nurturing and healing circle that is created among women, I facilitate experiences for women to connect with their bodies, their voice and their life purposes. I have named these workshops Awaken Woman.

I trained in yoga at the Sadhana-Madrid school, in shiatsu at Inma Bonet's Zenit school in Barcelona, and specialties in trauma with Cliff Andrews (U.K), menopause - Marina di Franceschi, and maternity - Suzanne Yates (Wellmother, UK). I´ve specialized in Prenatal Yoga with Maria Teresa Puig. I am also a certified Hormonal Yoga teacher with Dinah Rodrigues. I studied doula training in Bilbao, Women's Chi Kung with Raymonde Mayer, The Four Moons in Me and Women's Circle Facilitator with Sophia Style and her Cyclic Woman team. And Systemic Facilitation with Bugui Garcia.
