ABOUT
Elan has been dancing through the world since she was big enough to stand. Dance brought her leaping and spinning to NYC at age 18 to train as a professional dancer at the Alvin Ailey School. By 26, body and spirit broken by the professional dance world, Elan shifted gears and embarked on a 15 year career as a Broadway producer. She supported and held space for the creation of numerous musicals and plays including RENT, Hairspray and Spamalot. Her passion for the creative process proved to extend beyond dance and theater, inspiring her to become a birth doula and advocate for babies and birthing women.
In 2004, she founded Choices in Childbirth, a leading consumer advocacy organisation that, through her leadership and vision, has helped thousands of families experience childbirth that is respectful, safe, healthy and deeply satisfying. Elan is thrilled to return to her first love of dance through Qoya and is currently traveling the world on her "Leap of Faith Tour" teaching Qoya, writing and leading retreats.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOU TO TEACH QOYA?
For me, teaching Qoya is about offering women an opportunity to take a journey that will reveal to them something new, precious and fascinating about themselves. There is nothing more fulfilling than witnessing a woman light up and fall in love with herself!
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE WHO IS FEELING INSPIRED TO TRY QOYA FOR THE FIRST TIME?
Welcome! I'm so happy that your body has called you to Qoya! Qoya is so much more than a movement class, it's a way of navigating the world with love, intention and compassion, for yourself and for others.
