ABOUT
Erin is immersed in the feminine arts. As a professional dancer, choreographer, musician, performer, Tantra Practitioner and teacher, she holds a deep understanding and reverence for the transformative power of movement and dance.
Her deeply feminine, deeply personal performance works and shows have toured to arts festivals around the world, and alongside presentation of these works, she most often teaches Qoya to local communities. Her theatrical background invites a sense of richness and creativity in the spaces she holds.
As an artist, Erin blends together an eclectic mix of contemporary dance, theatre, music, feminine movement, clowning and martial arts. She can be found teaching embodied movement to actors at a tertiary level, and has studied Daoist martial arts in Wudangshan, China.
As a teacher, facilitator and space holder, she teaches Qoya as well as facilitating women's circles, Tantra and Embodied Relating workshops, 1:1 coaching work and other sacred gatherings. She brings a depth of compassion and understanding to those she works with, alongside a down to earth sense of humour and delight.
Her professional dance training does not mean that she expects her class participants to be prima ballerinas! In fact, she is the queen of daggy dancing and loves helping others find joy and freedom through movement.
GETTING TO KNOW

WHAT DOES IT MEAN FOR YOU TO TEACH QOYA?
To teach Qoya is such an honour. Since finding it in 2016, Qoya has been one of the most constant and truly resonant practices in my life. It feels like coming home. I love creating spaces for others to connect with Qoya and to create their own relationship with it, as well as connecting with the incredible wider community around the world. There is such a deep yearning for these spaces and to be a small part of it brings me so much joy.
Qoya, for me, is a space to deeply and compassionately connect with self and with others. It is tender and gentle, beautiful and challenging, while also being so incredibly fun and energising. I love that it can be flexible to my mood and my needs, allowing me to connect to self, and others, in whatever way feels true in the moment.
As a professional dancer, movement is my medicine. I have been fortunate to teach in many places around the world and so, to be able to continue sharing the power of movement with others via Qoya is a constant delight and privilege.
WHAT WOULD YOU SAY TO SOMEONE WHO IS FEELING INSPIRED TO TRY QOYA FOR THE FIRST TIME?
If you are thinking about it, then there must be something within you that is called to try it. You have found it for a reason, so trust your calling and jump into the unknown. Qoya is such a carefully crafted practice and will only welcome you with open arms and make sure you feel safe and comfortable. Beyond the leap of faith, magic happens.
